Studio Baladi is my happy space for handcrafted jewelry. I create pieces that are meant to be worn every day and kept for years.
Working mainly with gold, sterling silver, and brass, I make jewelry that becomes part of the wearer’s story and can be passed on from one generation to the next.
The word Baladi means local, native, from the earth, and it guides much of my work: simple forms, organic textures, and a deep appreciation for raw materials and natural shapes.
Many of my pieces are inspired by memories, relationships, and the small moments that stay with us. As an industrial designer at heart, I am naturally drawn to exploring new materials, tools, and techniques. Many of my collections begin with a material, a texture, or a new tool that sparks curiosity and leads the design process.
Behind Studio Baladi, you’ll find me — Laliv, an industrial designer turned metalsmith. After several years designing products for industry, I found myself drawn to the slower, more hands-on process of working with metal and eventually chose to make it my life’s work.
Today, I design and handcraft every piece myself from my studio and shop in a small kibbutz in northern Israel. As a single mother to twins, I often describe Studio Baladi as my third child—built slowly over the years with patience, dedication, and love.
